The successful candidate will be integrated into the dynamic Developmental Psychology Group, participating in regular collaborative activities and interdisciplinary networks that promote early career researchers. Position Overview

This is an 18-month fixed-term position for a Research Assistant (RA) within the Department of Psychology. The selected candidate will contribute to the research project titled "Age-based imitation bias throughout development, during daily interactions, and across cultures," under the guidance of Dr. Sheina Lew-Levy, funded by a UKRI ESRC grant. The project investigates children's imitation behaviors in everyday contexts.

Project Expectations

The primary responsibility of the successful applicant will involve coding naturalistic video observations. Additionally, the candidate will assist in coordinating project meetings. Detailed responsibilities include:
  • Engaging in the analysis and coding of video data.
  • Communicating complex information clearly to team members through presentations and discussions.
  • Documenting research findings and presenting progress reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Applying existing methodologies to address research objectives effectively.
  • Collaborating with the Principal Investigator to devise innovative solutions to research challenges.
  • Building relationships with colleagues and external contacts to enhance research collaboration.
  • Contributing to the planning and execution of research initiatives.
  • Supporting student projects by providing guidance on research methods and tools.
  • Promoting a collegial and respectful work environment that values diversity and inclusion.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Additional Information

This position is designed for individuals who have recently completed a master's degree and seek to gain valuable research experience in preparation for future academic pursuits. The role offers essential research experience that will be beneficial for independent research endeavors.
