Role Overview
We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate specializing in Microbial Metal Sensing. This role, under the guidance of Dr. Peter Chivers, is part of a funded research initiative focused on engineering bacterial strains to optimize metal availability. The project aims to enhance metallation processes and improve metal tolerance in bacteria utilized within sustainable metal cycles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences through presentations and discussions.
- Prepare and present research findings at conferences and in publications.
- Contribute to the development of research objectives and proposals.
- Conduct both independent and collaborative research projects.
- Identify and explore new research avenues in partnership with the Principal Investigator and colleagues.
- Manage research activities and resources efficiently.
- Provide training in research methodologies to peers and students.
- Engage in student supervision and assessment.
- Foster an inclusive and respectful work environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
