Head of Project Management in Operations

Key Responsibilities:
 Oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to established governance and best practices from initiation to completion.
 Deliver intricate transformation projects when applicable, guiding them from design through to implementation and transition to business as usual.
 Collaborate with subject matter experts and project teams to identify, define, gather, document, and communicate data input and future migration needs.
 Engage closely with relevant business units and key stakeholders to facilitate effective and efficient project execution.
 Develop and maintain project plans, adjusting as necessary to accommodate evolving needs and requirements.
 Prepare comprehensive data input and migration strategies, including risk assessments, milestones, quality assurance, and business approval details.
 Comprehend project budgeting; monitor expenditures; analyze variances, baseline project plans, and manage change control while initiating corrective actions as needed.
 Maintain up-to-date project status reports for stakeholders; coordinate updates for steering committees; proactively anticipate and respond to changes.
 Identify and manage interdependencies with other projects as required.
 Collaborate closely with technology teams, including Infrastructure and business product owners, to design and deliver effective solutions.
 Generate management information regarding project health and progress delivery.
 Plan, manage, and escalate risks and issues promptly to prioritize actions and inform overall strategy, monitoring potential impacts as part of the data migration strategy.
 Accountable for identifying resource needs and assigning responsibilities to ensure target dates are met.
 Oversee all daily operational aspects of project deliverables.
 Work in conjunction with the central PMO to ensure alignment of project governance and delivery processes, maintaining a complete audit trail.

Skills and Experience:
 Proactive management of multi-functional projects, preferably within Banking Operations, Payments, and Middle/Back Office sectors.
 Over 10 years of experience in project management within an operational environment, ideally in Payments.
 Strong understanding of Payments messaging, particularly ISO20022.
 Solid knowledge of investment banking products, financial operations, and trade flows.
 Proven track record of delivering projects to financial institutions within established timelines and budgets.
 Effective staff management and team organization skills.
 Experience in demand and supply management.
 Strong capabilities in project delivery and deadline management.
 Excellent communication and leadership skills.
 Familiarity with various delivery methodologies, including both waterfall and agile approaches.
 Clear comprehension of change management within a corporate context.
 Strong governance focus on delivery, with experience leading Steering Committees involving senior stakeholders.
 Proficient in project management tools and software.
 Advanced skills in Microsoft Professional Suite, including Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
 Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and foster relationships across diverse skill sets within an international organization.
 Proven experience in budget management.
 Skilled in identifying project outputs and tracking the delivery of business benefits.

Work Experience:
 Knowledge of Front-to-Back Office transaction lifecycle management and associated risks.
 Over 10 years of experience successfully leading complex projects across the Operations domain.
 Demonstrated experience in managing multiple work streams.
 Background in the financial industry.
 Good understanding of the regulatory landscape, including regulatory reporting requirements.
 Desirable to possess knowledge of various financial products, including fixed income, derivatives, money markets, and corporate lending.

Education / Qualifications:
 Prince2 or APMP project management methodology certification is advantageous.
 Excellent skills in MS Project and MS Office.
