About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Nurse to join our Therapeutic Apheresis Services team at NHS Blood and Transplant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality Therapeutic Apheresis services to patients across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a team of nurses to provide safe and effective Therapeutic Apheresis services.
  • Develop and implement clinical standards and policies to ensure best practice and clinical effectiveness.
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to the nursing team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.
  • Communicate effectively with donors, patients, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure effective service integration and delivery.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration.
  • Masters degree or equivalent relevant experience gained working at senior nurse level.
  • Leadership and/or management training or experience equivalent to degree/Diploma level.
  • Teaching/assessment qualification (e.g. ENB 998, Mentorship in Practice, NVQ A1/A2).
  • Evidence of recent post-registration/educational learning and continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Demonstrated experience of planning, implementing, and evaluating changes in clinical practice at strategic level.
  • Experience of initiating and supporting the professional development of others and yourself.
  • Understanding of the principles of clinical effectiveness and best practice.
