Transport Operations Manager

MKM Building Supplies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our transport department, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport Operations: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all transport operations, including the management of a fleet of HGVs and drivers.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of transport coordinators and drivers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Dispatch and Routing: Develop and implement efficient dispatch and routing strategies to minimize costs and maximize delivery times.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all transport operations are conducted in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including tachograph compliance and health and safety procedures.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of transport operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Strategic Development: Contribute to the development of strategic plans and initiatives to improve transport operations and drive business growth.
