Transport Operator

Role Overview

Location: Thames Valley Region

Salary: £28,072 - £32,605 plus a variety of additional benefits to support your family, finances, and overall wellbeing.

Employment Type: Permanent | Full Time

As a Transport Operator, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting and delivering essential traffic management equipment from various sites.
  • Ensuring timely replenishment of materials to support operational teams in their excavation tasks while coordinating with colleagues to maintain adequate supplies across multiple locations.
  • Performing driving duties under street works conditions, assisting teams with various vehicles to install and manage equipment on our infrastructure.
  • Being available for out-of-hours work to assist the business in addressing urgent issues during evenings and weekends on a rotational basis.
  • Delivering materials to job sites as needed and undertaking any additional related tasks as required.

What We Are Looking For

To be successful in this position, we would appreciate if you have:

  • Previous experience in a similar capacity and possess a valid driving license. HGV Class 2 and HIAB operation experience are advantageous but not mandatory as training will be provided.
  • A readiness to engage in physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions, along with a positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
  • NRSWA street works signing and guarding, HIAB training, or any relevant plant operation qualifications would be beneficial but are not essential.
  • A strong commitment to safety practices and a collaborative approach to fostering a safety-first culture within the team.
