At Babcock, we are dedicated to creating a secure and safe environment, and as a Marine Engineer Section Head, you will play a crucial role at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site.

Role Overview
In the position of Marine Engineer Section Head, you will engage in extraordinary tasks within the Support Business, focusing on the intricate deep maintenance periods for the Royal Navy's Landing ships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the maintenance of various mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
  • Collaborating with ship staff teams for the acceptance and handover of equipment.
  • Operating and configuring equipment and systems within your section.
  • Identifying and resolving defects efficiently.
  • Ensuring that all contracted work from external contractors meets the required standards upon acceptance.
This full-time role consists of 35 hours per week and is based on-site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Marine Engineer with a successful track record in section management and implementing change.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with individuals at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering, demonstrating agility and adaptability.
  • Experience with high voltage or heavy electrical systems is preferred.
Required Qualifications:
  • HNC qualified or equivalent in an engineering specialization, with significant relevant experience.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be capable of obtaining and maintaining Security Check (SC) security clearance for this position.
