Role Overview
As a Marine Engineer Section Head, you will engage in extraordinary tasks within the Support Business, focusing on the intricate deep maintenance periods for the Royal Navy's Landing ships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the maintenance of various mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
  • Collaborating with both outgoing and incoming ship staff teams for the acceptance and handover of equipment.
  • Operating and configuring equipment and systems within your section.
  • Identifying and resolving defects efficiently.
  • Accepting equipment from contractors, ensuring all contracted work meets the required standards.

This position is full-time, comprising 35 hours per week, and is based on-site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Marine Engineer with a successful history in section management and implementing change.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering, demonstrating agility and adaptability.
  • Experience with high voltage or heavy electrical systems is preferred.

Educational Requirements:

  • HNC qualified or equivalent in an engineering specialization, complemented by significant demonstrable experience.

Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be capable of obtaining and maintaining Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
