At Babcock International Group, we are dedicated to fostering a secure and safe environment, and as a Marine Engineer Section Head, you will play a crucial role at our Devonport Royal Dockyard facility.

Role Overview
As a Marine Engineer Section Head, you will engage in a unique and challenging role within the Support Business, overseeing the intricate deep maintenance cycles for the Royal Navy's Landing ships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the maintenance of diverse mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
  • Collaborating with both outgoing and incoming ship staff teams for the acceptance and handover of equipment.
  • Operating and configuring equipment and systems within your section.
  • Identifying and resolving defects efficiently.
  • Ensuring all contracted work is completed to the required standards upon accepting equipment from contractors.

This is a full-time position, requiring 35 hours of work per week, based on-site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Marine Engineer with a successful track record in section management and implementing change.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering, demonstrating agility and adaptability.
  • Experience with high voltage or heavy electrical systems is advantageous.

Educational Requirements:

  • HNC qualified or equivalent in an engineering discipline, accompanied by significant demonstrable experience.

Security Clearance:
The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this position.
