Position Overview
In the capacity of Marine Engineer Section Head, you will engage in unique responsibilities within the Support Business, overseeing intricate maintenance periods for the Royal Navy's Landing ships. Your role will involve:
  • Conducting maintenance on a diverse array of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Collaborating with both outgoing and incoming ship staff teams for equipment handover.
  • Operating and configuring equipment and systems within your section.
  • Identifying and resolving defects efficiently.
  • Ensuring that all contracted work from external contractors meets the required standards.
This is a full-time position, requiring 35 hours of work per week, located on-site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
  • Proven experience as a Marine Engineer with a strong background in section management and change implementation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • A solid understanding of systems engineering, demonstrating agility and adaptability.
  • Experience with high voltage or heavy electrical systems is preferred.
Educational Requirements
A minimum of HNC qualification or equivalent in an engineering specialization, complemented by significant relevant experience.

Security Clearance
The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this position.
