Role Overview
As a Marine Engineer Section Head, you will engage in a unique role within the Support Business, overseeing intricate deep maintenance operations for the Royal Navy's Landing ships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance of diverse mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
  • Collaborate with both outgoing and incoming ship staff teams for equipment handover.
  • Manage the operation and commissioning of equipment and systems within your section.
  • Identify and resolve defects efficiently.
  • Ensure that all equipment received from contractors meets the required standards.

This position is full-time, requiring 35 hours per week on-site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Marine Engineer with a strong record in section management and implementing change.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering, demonstrating agility and adaptability.
  • Experience with high voltage or heavy electrical systems is preferred.

Educational Requirements:

  • HNC qualified or equivalent in an engineering specialization, coupled with significant relevant experience.

Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this position.
