About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Supplier and Partner Management Lead. As a key member of our Corporate Hub team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our service management team and developing a framework for managing our strategic suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive framework for managing our strategic suppliers, ensuring effective collaboration and engagement with suppliers to meet our needs.
  • Manage the ongoing relationship with suppliers, including regular review meetings and the preparation of systematic review timetables.
  • Contribute to the development of a strategic roadmap for supplier management, ensuring a deep understanding of its implications for the Scottish Government.
  • Manage service claims or other compensatory issues as required.
  • Be an escalation point for contractual issues.
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement to underpin the future development of the supplier management framework.
  • Contribute to the conversation of what good customer service looks like, for specific DG Corporate services, initially focusing on HR & Finance services.
  • Contribute to the engagement with DG Corporate customers, taking feedback, gathering insights, and drawing out analytics.
  • Contribute to the development of the shared services catalogue, how each service is consumed, by which organisation, why etc.
  • Contribute to Horizon scanning and intelligence gathering to identify changes in demand and in customer service requirements.
  • Contribute to the review, updating, and maintaining the Memorandums of Understanding and/or Data Sharing Agreements that SG has with some Delivery Bodies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
  • Experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and partnership development.
  • Knowledge of the Scottish Government's policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
