About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Empty Homes Partnership Officer to join our team at Shelter Scotland. As a key member of our Scottish Empty Homes Partnership, you will play a vital role in supporting the project's strategy to bring more empty homes back into use across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with councils, housing associations, and third sector organizations to promote the use of empty homes.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify barriers to bringing empty homes back into use and provide evidence-based recommendations for future sector development.
  • Support the Scottish Empty Homes Officer Network and provide training and consultancy to members.
  • Line manage the Senior Empty Homes Adviser and provide guidance on policy and procedure.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with stakeholders and promote the project's objectives.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in housing policy, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Knowledge of Scottish housing policy and the empty homes sector.
