As part of our ongoing growth, we are seeking an innovative and experienced Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialist to join our team. This Band 7 role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialized nursing care to a diverse caseload of children and young people with diabetes across both hospital and community settings.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring seamless delivery of services across the health system.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on evidence-based practice and patient needs.
  • Promote an 'out-of-hospital' agenda by supporting families in managing diabetes at home and reducing hospital attendances.
  • Contribute to service development initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Actively participate in education and training programs, staying abreast of the latest advancements in diabetes care.
Essential Requirements:
  • NMC Registration Part 8 or 15 - Children's Nursing
  • Postgraduate Paediatric Diabetes Qualification or equivalent
  • Significant post-registration experience in acute/community paediatric settings, including the care of children with diabetes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and clinical skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
