Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Diabetes Consultant to join our team at Lifelancer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert care to children and young people with diabetes, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist care to children and young people with diabetes, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of the condition.
- Work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with diabetes, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of patients with diabetes, monitoring their progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients with diabetes, including referrals to specialist services as needed.
Requirements
- MRCPCH by examination or equivalent.
- Eligible for full GMC registration.
- On GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of attainment of CCST/CCT in Paediatrics at date of interview.
- Specialist interest in Paediatric Endocrinology.
- Desirable criteria: A higher degree (MSc, MD, PhD or equivalent), On or eligible for the sub-specialty register for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, SPIN paediatric diabetes.
Desirable Skills
- Extensive experience in Paediatric Diabetes.
- Broad experience in general Paediatric Endocrinology.
- Ability to manage all common diabetes emergencies and therapeutic interventions.
- Good broad knowledge of general paediatrics and adolescent medicine, including developmentally appropriate healthcare.
- Knowledge of relevant aspects of respective adult specialties.
