Residential Care Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Officer to join our team at Acorn Lodge, a newly opened children's home for children aged 7-18 with disabilities.
As a Residential Care Officer, you will work under the supervision of the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, and Senior RCO, with delegated responsibility for more skilled practice.
You will play an active role in providing a warm, caring, and enabling environment that meets the emotional, social, and physical needs of the children living in the home.
The patterns of care and support in the home are based on the principles of autonomy, choice, privacy, dignity, and fulfillment, providing a foundation for good standards of care practice.
You will work in cooperation and consultation with children and their families, as well as partner agencies and staff, to provide an appropriately flexible service in response to assessment and case planning.
The aim is to provide a range of social care and therapeutic approaches to work with individuals, groups, and families, appropriate to the needs of children in residence, within the least restrictive environment possible.
Within the team, you will undertake social care practice duties of a more skilled and difficult nature.
Sleep-in duties and working shifts as part of a rota are requirements of the role.
Shift patterns mainly consist of 8-hour shifts, although at times other hours may be required depending on the needs of the children/service.
This post involves working with adults and requires an Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure.
