Lead Drives Systems Engineer

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical or Controls Engineer to lead and inspire a team of talented engineers. You will take ownership of engineering activities, ensuring successful project delivery, and work closely with senior leadership to drive innovation and oversee the functional safety lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead cutting-edge engineering projects with ownership of the full safety lifecycle.
  • Manage and mentor teams, developing the next generation of engineers.
  • Collaborate with senior management and contribute to continuous improvement within the organisation.
  • Design electrical/control systems, including Functional Design Specifications, Safety Requirements, Single Line Diagrams, and more.
  • Create software designs and produce configurations for various systems like PLC, HMI, SCADA, and more.
  • Oversee testing phases, including Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing.
  • Maintain ownership of the Technical Construction File.
  • Additional tasks as required by the project.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of BEng / BSE / Level 6 Apprenticeship in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a similar engineering role.
  • Expertise in electrical control systems with strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proactive problem-solver with excellent organisational skills.
  • Adaptable, enthusiastic, and hands-on.
