Infrastructure Support Engineer

We are seeking a Infrastructure Support Engineer to become a vital part of our team at Leidos UK within the Defence Division.

Due to the ongoing success and expansion of our operations, we are looking for multiple Infrastructure Support Engineers to assist in developing innovative solutions for our current and prospective clients.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will primarily oversee the functionality and upkeep of Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) / Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM). Additionally, the role requires a robust understanding of Infrastructure and a wide array of technologies, including Microsoft Windows Server (covering services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP) and virtualization (Hyper-V), as well as Microsoft Stack Technologies (SharePoint, SQL Server, Skype for Business / Teams), networking solutions, and storage systems.

This position will offer diverse technical exposure across both project-based outcomes and routine operational support activities. Responsibilities will include on-site assistance and out-of-hours on-call support.

You will be expected to contribute to the creation and continuous updating of technical documentation and provide resources to support project initiatives or operational services.

Who We Are Looking For?

We are in search of an individual with a strong enthusiasm for infrastructure, ideally from a background in operational support services. You should be self-driven and capable of working independently to meet daily objectives, achieving significant results in project or operational deliverables, while managing various tasks to ensure adherence to project timelines and customer KPIs and SLAs. Effective communication skills are essential, as you will engage directly with clients and colleagues. An analytical and systematic approach to technical challenges is also required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in MS System Centre Configuration Manager / Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM);
  • Strong knowledge of Virtualized Environments such as VMware and Hyper-V;
  • Comprehensive understanding of Windows Server Environments, from Server 2003 to 2019, including OS build, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy from design to implementation and support;
  • Solid general knowledge of TCP/IP and networking technologies, including load balancing and firewalls;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft stack technologies such as SharePoint, Skype for Business / Teams, MS SQL, MS System Centre (SCSM, SCOM, SCORCH), Office365, MS Exchange, and CLI tools like PowerShell;
  • Understanding of SAN storage technologies;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, taking ownership of complex incidents to ensure resolution to customer satisfaction;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Experience in producing and maintaining high-quality technical documentation.
