We are seeking a dedicated Senior Materials and Corrosion Engineer to enhance our capabilities at Subsea7. This role focuses on providing expert guidance in the field of metallic materials and corrosion management.
Key Responsibilities:
As part of the Materials, Welding, and Coatings division, your duties will include:
- Developing comprehensive material specifications for various components, including pipes and forgings.
- Evaluating and clarifying supplier proposals for pipes and forgings.
- Determining appropriate materials based on project requirements and environmental conditions.
- Conducting CO2 corrosion assessments.
- Engaging in discussions with clients and suppliers to address technical challenges.
- Assisting quality and supply chain management teams in supplier evaluations.
- Contributing to research and development initiatives related to materials and corrosion.
- Maintaining effective communication with clients and internal teams.
We value diverse experiences and encourage applications from candidates who meet some of the following criteria:
- Strong knowledge of the metallurgical and mechanical characteristics of metals.
- Experience in supporting procurement processes for line pipes and forgings.
- Familiarity with corrosion mechanisms in the oil and gas sector.
- Proficiency in corrosion calculations and material selection processes.
- Understanding of industry standards relevant to materials and welding (e.g., API, DNV, ASTM).
- Basic knowledge of welding techniques and non-destructive testing methods.
- Excellent communication skills across various organizational levels.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on risk management.
- Ability to navigate complex projects in a multicultural environment.
- Significant experience in the oil and gas industry.
- A degree in Materials Science or a related engineering discipline with a focus on materials and corrosion.
