About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oncology Nurse to join our team at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. As a key member of our Acute Oncology Multidisciplinary Team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our acute services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the AOS Cancer CNS team to develop and deliver acute services across organisational, professional and geographical boundaries.
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with cancer, including breaking bad news and supporting patients and their families.
  • Contribute to the development of local and national cancer standards, policies and guidance.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and working practices.
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse / Practitioner with live NMC / other registration.
  • Cancer care/training/knowledge.
  • Formal qualification or through relevant cancer or counselling experience.
  • Competent in dealing with breaking of significant news to patients and relatives.
  • Advanced knowledge and a clear understanding of local and national cancer standards, policies and guidance.
