About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Breast team. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with, and autonomously as part of, the Breast team to help develop and deliver services across organisational, professional and geographical boundaries.

This role will work closely with key areas of the Trust, forging close working relationships with the visiting consultants from the Cancer Centres, the Medical and Cancer teams and the Specialist Palliative Care team.

The ideal candidate will possess a high level of up-to-date relevant clinical knowledge and experience in Breast procedures, Oncology or specialist Palliative Care with evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.

Working with the Cancer Management Team, this post will be responsible for the implementation and assessment of the service against the NHSi Quality Measures for breast cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in collaboration with, and autonomously as part of, the Breast team to help develop and deliver services across organisational, professional and geographical boundaries.

Person Specification
  • Registered nurse: entry on either part 1 or 12 of the NMC register, with 5 years post basic clinical experience.
  • Evidence of professional development relevant to the specialty.
  • To have completed specialist study at level 3.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and training.
  • Mandatory training up to date.
  • A minimum of 3 years professional practice with experience in clinical haematology or oncology, with a sound knowledge of the specialty.
  • To demonstrate a genuine interest in cancer care and knowledge of this specialty.
