Clinical Specialist in Ophthalmology

This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking eye care service team at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB).
As a Specialist Optometrist, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of consultants, optometrists, and ophthalmic nurses to provide specialist clinical care for patients with sight-threatening eye diseases.
You will be responsible for delivering advanced, specialized, and complex care, with a high level of individual professional responsibility and efficiency within clinical and core optometry.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical care for patients with sight-threatening eye diseases, including glaucoma, in ophthalmic sub-specialist clinics.
- Deliver core optometric services, including advanced paediatric refractions and specialist contact lenses.
- Make patient-centred judgements on management in the presence of uncertainty.
- Plan and deliver specialist clinical examinations that are commensurate with clinical experience.
