Job Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Principal to lead the delivery of our public health workplan for babies, children, and young people (BCYP).

About the Role: As a Public Health Principal, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an action plan for the Council's BCYP strategy, monitoring its impact, and leading on the development and implementation of an infant feeding strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive BCYP strategy to improve the health and wellbeing of babies, children, and young people.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of an infant feeding strategy to increase breast feeding rates and improve the health of babies and young children.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers to improve partnership working and coordination on the health of babies, children, and young people.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of the BCYP strategy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Public Health Principal or similar role, with a strong track record of delivering public health strategies.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with partners and providers.
  • Experience in infant feeding would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Relevant qualifications in public health, such as a Master's degree, would be beneficial.
