Position Overview

Role: Compliance Officer - Financial Crime

An exceptional opportunity has arisen to serve as the Compliance Officer for a leading Retail organization. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, alongside relevant financial crime laws and policies.

We are in search of a previously FCA approved Compliance Officer who possesses the requisite skills, qualifications, and experience to fulfill this critical function.

Your primary responsibility will be to inform the Executive Committee of any existing or potential financial compliance risks and propose effective solutions. You will also support Retail teams in establishing consistent and efficient operational practices across their various UK locations.

Utilizing your extensive expertise in Financial Compliance, you will identify opportunities to enhance processes and improve risk communication.

As a Compliance Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the designated Compliance Officer
  • Ensuring compliance across all areas with applicable financial crime regulations, laws, and policies.
  • Collaborating with and influencing internal stakeholders across all departments, gathering necessary inputs to develop and maintain a robust financial compliance framework.
  • Creating, implementing, and updating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial crime and fraud legislation.
  • Liaising with regulatory bodies as needed and staying informed on relevant publications to keep the organization updated on current risks and trends.
  • Conducting risk assessments for all new business initiatives against existing and emerging financial crime regulations, laws, and policies to ensure compliance.
  • Effectively communicating financial compliance risks and providing solutions to the Executive Committee.
  • Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive financial crime training program for all business areas.
