Job Summary:

The Accounts Assistant will provide essential support to the finance team at Stormking, focusing on the Purchase Ledger and Time and Attendance system functions. This role involves maintaining accurate records, ensuring timely payments to suppliers, and providing administrative support for weekly stock takes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Accounts Payable function, including processing purchase invoices and supplier statements, and ensuring timely payments to suppliers.
  • Maintain the company's Time and Attendance system, completing weekly reports to ensure accurate hours recording, setting up new starters, and addressing employee queries.
  • Take responsibility for the weekly stock takes, providing the template for stock recording and ensuring timely and accurate results for presentation to the Buyer.
  • Monitor office supplies and maintain stock levels.
  • Support with Accounts Receivable as needed.
  • Assist with phone calls and office visitors.
  • Agree intercompany balances and present them to the Management Accountant for approval.
  • Run daily invoices and reports as required.
  • Provide occasional holiday or sick cover for credit control as needed.
  • Support with month-end tasks and Year-End Accounts preparation.
  • Other ad-hoc responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • High proficiency in Excel and computer literacy.
  • Familiarity with key accounting concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Desire to learn and improve processes.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Part AAT Qualified or QBE.
  • Experience with Business Central (Navision) would be advantageous.
  • Manufacturing experience, particularly with stock taking.
  • Previous Accounts Payable experience.
