Position Overview

As a Lead Palliative Care Nurse at Sue Ryder, you will play a crucial role in delivering compassionate care to patients and their families. This position offers a competitive salary range of £32,322 to £36,428 per annum, with flexible hours to accommodate a 7-day service.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert nursing care and support to patients requiring palliative and end-of-life care.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and ongoing evaluations of patient needs, both in person and via remote communication.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of nursing assistants in community settings.
  • Coordinating care in the absence of the Clinical Team Leader, ensuring continuity and quality of service.
  • Engaging with families to provide emotional support and guidance during challenging times.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • Registration as a Nurse or Paramedic, with a preference for experience in palliative care and community nursing.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • The ability to respond effectively to urgent care situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to prioritize tasks efficiently.
