Sue Ryder is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Palliative Care Nurse/Paramedic to join our rapidly expanding Hospice at Home Team at Thorpe Hall Hospice.
Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated professional to lead our team in providing high-quality, specialist care to patients and their families in their own homes. As a Senior Palliative Care Nurse/Paramedic, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering care to patients with complex needs, as well as leading clinical practice development and mentoring junior staff.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage long-term conditions and palliative care, including assessment and management
- Lead clinical practice development for the client group
- Communicate effectively with service users and their families, including delivering difficult messages
- Negotiate and manage conflicts
- Provide teaching and mentorship in a clinical setting
- Effectively manage change and prioritize workload
Requirements
- Registered Nurse or Paramedic, preferably with experience in palliative care and community nursing
- Leadership skills and ability to mentor junior staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to respond to unscheduled acute care when required
- Organized and able to prioritize workload, including triage
