Job Summary:

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialty Doctor to join our dedicated consultant-led team at a Specialist Palliative Care unit. The unit provides complex symptom control and end-of-life care to patients across various regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical assessment, diagnosis, and management of new admissions
  • Manage inpatients, ensuring good practice and holistic care
  • Complete necessary paperwork and provide specialist advice
  • Participate in clinical audit and governance, and mandatory training sessions
  • Manage annual appraisal and job planning requirements

Requirements:

  • Full and up-to-date General Medical Council (GMC) registration
  • Minimum of 4 years of full-time postgraduate training, or equivalent gained through part-time or flexible basis, with at least 2 years in a relevant specialty
  • At least 6 months of post-registration experience in Palliative Medicine
  • Postgraduate qualification such as MRCP/MRCGP or equivalent
  • Sound clinical experience, including knowledge of medical and surgical conditions, and palliative medicine issues
  • Ability to work effectively in various clinical settings
  • Experience in clinical decision-making, risk management, and knowing when to seek help
  • Advanced communication skills training
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, including engagement in appraisal
  • Full current UK driving license and access to a car
  • Adequate language skills in English for effective communication, demonstrated through appropriate qualifications or evidence
  • Meets professional health requirements and standards
