Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry

About the Role
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team. As a Specialty Doctor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients with functional and organic illnesses on the Maples ward.
The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, psychologists, and physiotherapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients. You will be expected to maintain the highest clinical standards, work effectively with colleagues, and contribute to the development of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical input to the day-to-day functioning of the ward, including the admission and treatment of patients.
- Conduct psychiatric reviews of service users, supporting a multidisciplinary approach.
- Participate in team handovers, ward rounds, and multidisciplinary Care Programme Approach (CPA) reviews.
- Work effectively to facilitate timely discharge of patients from hospital.
- Ensure effective and timely documentation, including admission and discharge summaries, Mental Health Act reports, progress notes, and communicating clinical decision making and management plans to relevant parties.
