Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialty Doctor in Intellectual Disability Psychiatry to join our dedicated team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with intellectual disabilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct thorough medical history reviews and physical examinations.
  • Prescribe and monitor medication regimens as appropriate.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, case conferences, and research activities.

Essential Criteria

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Specialty training in Intellectual Disability Psychiatry or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with individuals with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of current best practices in intellectual disability psychiatry.
  • Membership of relevant professional organizations.
