Talking Therapies Operations Manager

Position Overview

The individual in this role will be tasked with ensuring the efficient operational management of Talking Therapy services across the designated regions, focusing on the boroughs served by Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. This includes overseeing financial and performance metrics in alignment with established key performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate closely with service and Clinical Directors to establish a clear strategic vision for the Talking Therapy services, ensuring alignment with organizational development plans.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with Mental Health Leads across the boroughs, System Partners, and Heads of Service to foster service growth and enhance community mental health support.
  • Act as the senior manager responsible for the Lead Contractor role, ensuring compliance with operational standards.

Operational Duties

The role involves:

  • Leading the planning and enhancement of services in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Driving change management initiatives to implement service development strategies effectively.
  • Encouraging innovative approaches and providing guidance to staff for improved treatment delivery.
  • Participating actively in strategic development discussions.
  • Engaging proactively with system partners and GPs to ensure service offerings meet community needs.
  • Representing the service at various forums and keeping leadership informed of relevant developments.
  • Ensuring robust performance management and providing support to Heads of Service.
  • Directing and assisting Heads of Services in operational matters.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and budgetary constraints.
  • Maintaining financial oversight in line with key performance indicators and assuring a viable Cost Improvement Programme.
  • Ensuring services meet care quality and performance standards.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A master's degree or equivalent experience in a senior operational role.
  • Extensive knowledge of Talking Therapies and NHS operational frameworks.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and achieving performance targets.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Experience in quality improvement methodologies and project management.
