Job Overview

Position Type: Fixed Term/Secondment

Note: Current employees of Hywel Dda University Health Board must obtain managerial approval for secondment applications prior to submission.

The Neurodevelopmental Services in West Wales are evolving, and we are eager to welcome dedicated and passionate Band 6 Neurodevelopmental Practitioners to our collaborative and supportive West Wales Integrated Autism Service.

We are looking for qualified professionals (Nurse, Allied Health Professional, Qualified Teacher with QTS, or Social Worker) who are committed to enhancing the lives of neuro-divergent adults.

Ideal candidates will possess transferable skills and a strong desire to expand their expertise in autism and neuro-divergence. The ability to perform under pressure while delivering high-quality, collaborative care and support to autistic individuals, regardless of mental health or learning challenges, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be on conducting diagnostic assessments for autism, with comprehensive training provided. This role also involves collaborating with autistic adults to identify and address their support needs, both individually and in group settings, through virtual and face-to-face interactions. You will work closely with individuals, their families, and partner organizations.

The West Wales Integrated Autism Service serves the Hywel Dda University Health Board area, providing diagnostic assessments for adults who do not qualify for statutory services such as mental health and learning disabilities. Additionally, the service offers time-limited support, professional consultation, and training on autism across various sectors.

Proficiency in Welsh is advantageous for this position; however, applications from both English and Welsh speakers are encouraged.
