Job Summary
We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to provide a helpful and friendly service, ensuring the reception area is tidy and welcoming. The successful candidate will be responsible for registering new patients, processing face-to-face and phone requests, and signposting patients to the appropriate healthcare professional.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide a high-quality reception service, ensuring patients receive excellent care and attention.
- Register new patients, temporary patients, and private patients, following practice procedures and regulations.
- Liaise with the Reception Manager/Practice Manager, following their instructions in a professional manner.
- Process face-to-face and phone requests, utilizing the appointment system with the correct clinician.
- Signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional, ensuring they receive the necessary care and attention.
- Accurately input data onto the system, utilizing the practice email and intranet system for effective communication.
- Attend practice meetings and undertake additional duties as requested by the Business/Reception Manager.
Person Specification
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Good telephone skills, with the ability to answer calls in a courteous and professional manner.
- Social skills, with the ability to work as part of a dynamic team.
- Experience in a GP practice or healthcare setting, with knowledge of practice procedures and regulations.
- GCSE A to C in English and Maths, with a good standard of education.
