Position: Lead Flood Risk Consultant - Rail


Calibre Search is recognized as a premier authority in Environmental Engineering and Management, collaborating with esteemed organizations such as the Environment Agency and the European Commission.

In response to an expanding portfolio of projects, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil and Flood Risk Consultant to join our dedicated Rail Division.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your expertise in the Rail Sector to manage projects effectively, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Contribute to a dynamic team focused on delivering and evaluating a variety of engineering and environmental enhancement initiatives, including assessments of bridge scour, drainage solutions, earthworks, and rehabilitation of structures and culverts.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and technical personnel from various offices, engaging directly with Network Rail and its associated contractors.
  • Provide technical guidance on civil and structural engineering challenges within the rail context, demonstrating proficiency in relevant design codes, rail standards, and software tools.
  • Generate, verify, and review engineering calculations across a diverse range of projects.


Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess Chartered status (or be nearing it) and demonstrate robust technical acumen, along with the capability to oversee design projects while fostering proactive relationships with clients and internal teams.


This role will report to an established Design Team Leader and will play a vital role in the successful execution of various engineering and environmental improvement projects.
