About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Flood Risk Consultant to join our Water and Environment North team at Waterman Aspen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on flood risk management and hydraulic design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop business cases for flood risk management schemes to secure funding.
  • Conduct hydraulic modeling and drainage modeling using software such as Flood Modeller TUFLOW and MicroDrainage or Causeway Flow.
  • Work with public sector clients, such as local authorities and the Environment Agency, to deliver flood risk management projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build relationships and influence positive outcomes.
  • Provide technical expertise on flood risk legislation and planning standards.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree qualification in Civil Engineering, geography, or equivalent.
  • Chartered Member or working towards chartered membership of a professional institution such as CIWEM, ICE, APM, etc.
  • Technical experience in UK flood risk legislation and planning standards.
  • Experience in developing business cases for flood risk management schemes.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic modeling and drainage modeling software.
  • Experience working with public sectors and client-facing environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Chartered Membership of relevant professional organisation.
