The Role

Tameside Children's Services is looking for dedicated Youth Transition Support Specialists to join our team as part of the Staying Close initiative. This pilot program is designed to assist young individuals who have exited care and previously resided in children's homes, providing them with practical, emotional, and social support as they navigate their transition to independent living.

The objective of this program is to equip each young person with the necessary skills to lead a successful and fulfilling life as they move into their own accommodation. Support continues until the age of 21.

About You

We seek Support Specialists who possess vision and enthusiasm to foster positive, authentic relationships with young individuals. You will have high aspirations for those you assist, ensuring they have access to a variety of opportunities to develop their interests and skills.

Knowledge in promoting independence skills such as budgeting, cooking, shopping, DIY, and managing utility and housing providers is essential to effectively support the young people in this program.

The service operates seven days a week and includes evening shifts.
