Job Overview:

  • The Telecommunications Services Manager at the Commonwealth of Virginia is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive operational and technical management of the organization’s telecommunications framework.
  • This role involves directing the Telecommunications Services teams, managing a multi-campus Cisco VoIP system, and leading a skilled group of Telecommunications Engineers, Analysts, WAN Administrators, and Support personnel.
  • The successful candidate will possess substantial technical knowledge in VoIP systems, WAN/LAN standards, and network architecture, along with strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • This position demands proficiency in troubleshooting intricate networking challenges, supporting telecommunication devices, and ensuring the integrity and dependability of the telecommunications systems.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving VoIP call routing and system performance issues.
  • Familiarity with WAN/LAN protocols, hardware, and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the capacity to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Experience with call accounting, billing systems, and Cisco VoIP implementations.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and technology deployment skills.
  • Leadership capabilities and the ability to guide team members.
  • Experience in voice and data services within a WAN/LAN setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco's Call Manager and Unity VoIP systems.
