We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at the Structural Engineering Alliance Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading engineering cost centers, creating and managing structural designs, and collaborating with clients and stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from small domestic extensions to large multistorey apartment and office developments. You will have the chance to develop your design experience and skills, and be supported to obtain accreditation to the Institute of Structural Engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead an engineering cost center(s) for our Midland Region.
  • Use the latest design software to create and manage structural designs.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications, and reports for a wide range of structures and materials.
  • Implement company policies and ensure adherence across your team.
  • Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken.
  • Develop existing customer relationships and promote JMS's services.
  • Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) would be advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
  • Prior experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable.
