About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to lead our engineering team in the Midlands region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing engineering cost centers, utilizing the latest design software, and collaborating with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-value projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead an engineering cost center(s) for our Midland Region, ensuring projects are appropriately resourced and delegated to team members.
  • Utilize the latest design software to create and manage structural designs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional results.
  • Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources, ensuring timely completion and adherence to company policies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote JMS's services, driving revenue growth and expanding our customer base.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression within the company.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications, and reports for a wide range of structures and materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Implement company policies and ensure adherence across your team, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
  • Prior experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable.
