About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Structural Engineer to join our team at the Structural Engineering Alliance Group. As a critical member of our structural team, you will play a key role in leading our engineering cost centre(s) and overseeing the design and delivery of high-value projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of structural engineers, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Use the latest design software to create and manage designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Liaise with key clients and stakeholders to discuss design and technical solutions.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members and monitoring progress.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression.
  • Implement company policies and ensure adherence across your team.
  • Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources.
  • Develop existing customer relationships and promote our services.
  • Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng).
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Demonstrable record of involvement in the design of highways and infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
  • Use of industry design standards (e.g. DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG SSG etc.).
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to offer solutions to challenges.
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative, and proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop your skills and career with training support.
