Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced New Business and Partnerships Manager to join our team at WHG. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for establishing and managing partnerships, securing new business opportunities, and driving growth in line with our transformational theme 'Making Places'.

The successful candidate will have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, excellent commercial acumen, and the ability to negotiate and influence effectively. You will be responsible for creating and managing a partnerships framework that delivers WHG's ambition to be a 'partner of choice' across our operating area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a partnerships strategy that aligns with WHG's business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, NHS trusts, and private sector partners.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including site acquisitions, package deals, and s106s.
  • Manage a portfolio of partnerships, ensuring effective delivery and governance.
  • Assess scheme viability and risk, providing commercial advice to inform decision-making.
  • Develop innovative joint venture partnerships to support the delivery of our development programme.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in formulating and managing successful partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of public funding routes and compliance frameworks.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a sound commercial mindset and ability to make difficult decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to identify competitive advantage.
  • Highly motivated, with the ability to handle pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in negotiating Heads of Terms and legal contracts.
