Nuclear Safety Case Engineer Position:
Location: Barrow-In-Furness.

Key Responsibilities:

- Managing and drafting nuclear substantiation documentation to support the site safety case.
- Evaluating calculations and analytical work.
- Assisting in the periodic review of safety protocols.
- Taking responsibility for deliverables and showcasing a high degree of independence.
- Aiding in the execution of substantiation requirements.
- Collaborating closely with Human Factors, Site Safety Case, and Engineering Authority Teams.
- Supporting the professional growth of other Nuclear Substantiation team members.
- Engaging with the broader organization on Nuclear substantiation-related initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Background in Nuclear Safety or Safety Case Analysis.
- Experience in Nuclear or other high-risk, highly regulated sectors.
- Proficient in producing high-quality technical documentation.
- Committed to driving all deliverable-related activities through established processes.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable:
- Comprehensive understanding of various engineering disciplines.
- Chartered Engineer status from the Engineering Council and membership in a relevant professional organization.
- Degree in a STEM field.

The Engineering – Nuclear Substantiation Team:
You will be joining a growing team with excellent development opportunities in both technical and managerial pathways.

Within the team, there are chances to engage in the design substantiation and safety justification of various assets and facilities, covering mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical domains, as well as participating in finite element analysis and simulation using state-of-the-art tools and techniques.

This role involves regular collaboration and joint efforts with the Engineering Authority, Site Specialist Engineers, Site Safety Case, Human Factors, as well as Boat Services and Boat Build functions, providing a highly varied and diverse scope of work.

This collaboration offers numerous development opportunities, including formal secondments and informal extended partnerships tailored to your career aspirations.
