Brackenberry Ltd is collaborating with a Local Authority to recruit a YOS Officer for a 2-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension based on client needs. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their CV for consideration.

Compensation: £28.15 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise young individuals under various community orders and custodial sentences, ensuring engagement with their parents or guardians as necessary.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop intervention plans, and perform regular reviews with young people, focusing on effective risk management and adherence to safeguarding policies.
  • Maintain accountability for your professional practice by managing your workload efficiently, applying critical thinking and evidence-based research to formulate informed opinions, and keeping precise records of all activities undertaken on behalf of the Council.
  • Inform service users, including victims and young offenders, of their rights under data protection laws and their ability to provide feedback regarding the services received.
  • Facilitate evidence-based individual and group programs aimed at reducing reoffending, incorporating best practices and an understanding of trauma recovery and restorative approaches.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant professional qualification, such as a social work degree or equivalent experience in youth justice.
  • Proven experience in conducting comprehensive assessments and developing actionable plans for children and young people.
  • Experience working with young individuals who have offended or are at risk of offending.

Additional Information:

  • Immediate availability or short notice is required.
  • Right to work in the U.K. is essential.
