About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Development Mentor to join our team at Plummer Youth Promise. As a Youth Development Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with complex SEMH and SEN needs, covering a range of needs including communication and interaction difficulties, cognitive and learning problems, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of dedicated professionals to provide tailored and specific support for young people with additional requirements in academic or communicative development.
  • Deliver high-quality and creative educational and personal development sessions, including one-to-one and small group work.
  • Create interactive and academically enriched learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs of our pupils.
  • Provide academic support and pastoral care to pupils, promoting their overall development and well-being.
Requirements
  • Preferred experience in psychiatric units, Health & Social Care, residential, or youth offending settings.
  • Ability to take note of and act on all issues relating to the well-being and safeguarding of children.
  • Profound ambition to contribute towards positive change in a child's development.
  • Willingness to undertake training days and professional development opportunities.
