Overview:
We are in search of a talented Technical Content Specialist to craft compelling and informative materials across various operational sectors. This role involves the creation of user guides, procedural documents, FAQs, and other essential documentation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and possess a range of modern software tools to elevate content development and dissemination.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation: Develop and oversee comprehensive documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs), user manuals, FAQs, newsletters, and other pertinent materials for employee use.

Collaboration: Engage with business leaders and frontline personnel to ascertain operational requirements and translate these into clear, actionable content. Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure messaging, branding, and style are cohesive and aligned.

Editing and Quality Assurance: Revise existing content to guarantee consistency in voice, grammar, and style in accordance with established branding guidelines.

Framework Development: Establish and maintain a standard operating procedure framework to support uniform and effective content generation.

Regular Updates: Conduct routine reviews and updates of information to ensure all content remains accurate and relevant.

Updates and Maintenance: Stay informed about operational changes and ensure all documentation is current. Create and distribute process reminders and updates through Microsoft Teams across various departmental channels.

On-Demand Content: Address urgent content creation requests, delivering high-quality materials within tight timelines.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, content development, or a similar capacity within a utility or operational context.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Canva.
  • Exceptional writing and editing abilities with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to interpret and convert technical information into clear, concise documentation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • High level of technological proficiency, including familiarity with AI, website management, OneDrive, and other advanced digital collaboration tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the utility sector, particularly in water and gas operations.
  • Familiarity with contemporary software applications utilized in content creation and distribution.
  • Experience in drafting processes and procedures for customer service or call center environments.
  • Experience in writing processes and procedures for government or federal regulations.
  • Preference for candidates with their own suite of authoring and content creation tools.
