Overview:
We are in search of a talented Technical Content Specialist to create and refine compelling documentation across various operational sectors. This role encompasses the development of instructional guides, procedural reminders, checklists, FAQs, and other essential materials. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and a variety of contemporary software tools to enhance the creation and dissemination of content.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation: Develop and oversee comprehensive documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), instructional materials, FAQs, and newsletters tailored for employee engagement.
Collaboration: Engage with business leaders and operational staff to grasp organizational requirements and translate them into clear, actionable documentation. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency in messaging, branding, and style.
Editing and Quality Assurance: Review and refine existing content to maintain alignment with established branding and stylistic guidelines.
Framework Development: Establish and uphold a standard operating procedure framework to facilitate effective content development.
Ongoing Updates: Regularly assess and refresh content to ensure it remains current and relevant to the organization’s needs.
Timely Updates: Stay informed about operational changes and ensure all documentation reflects the latest information. Distribute process updates and time-sensitive information via Microsoft Teams across various departmental channels.
On-Demand Content: Address urgent content creation requests, delivering high-quality materials within tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, content development, or a similar capacity within a utility or operational context.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Canva.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and convey technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- High proficiency in technology, including AI tools, website management, OneDrive, and other advanced digital sharing platforms.
- Experience within the utility sector, particularly in water and gas operations.
- Familiarity with modern software applications utilized in content creation and distribution.
- Experience in drafting processes and procedures for customer service or call center environments.
- Experience in writing processes and procedures for governmental or regulatory compliance.
- Preference for candidates with their own suite of authoring and content creation tools.
