Machine Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Design and Process Engineer to join our dynamic design team at Jigsaw Business Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of innovative machinery and processes for the production of rail track fixing clips.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Design Team: Work closely with our existing design team to develop cutting-edge machinery and processes that meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Design and Optimize Manufacturing Processes: Design and optimize manufacturing processes to increase production, reduce costs, and improve overall quality.
- On-Site Integration and Testing: Work on-site to ensure seamless integration and functionality of new machines and processes, ensuring that they meet the required standards.
- Develop Flexible Machine Forming Centres: Develop flexible machine forming centres/stations with interchangeable forming heads, enabling efficient production and minimizing downtime.
- Implement In-Process Testing and Control Mechanisms: Implement in-process testing and control mechanisms to enhance Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) metrics, ensuring that products meet the required standards.
- Replace Robotic Handling Solutions: Replace existing robotic handling solutions with simpler, more efficient alternatives, reducing costs and improving productivity.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks: Proficiency in SolidWorks and other relevant design software.
- Proven Experience in Machine and Process Design: Proven experience in machine and process design, particularly in industrial manufacturing environments.
- Ability to Identify and Solve Design Challenges: Ability to proactively identify and solve design challenges without waiting for detailed instructions.
- Hands-on Experience with Core Processes: Hands-on experience with core processes such as cutting to length, heating, forming, quenching, tempering, painting, and inspection.
- Familiarity with Modular Design Principles: Familiarity with modular design principles and international power/safety/machine regulations.
- Strong Understanding of Production Processes: Strong understanding of production processes and quality control measures.
- Experience with In-Process Testing and Quality Control Integration: Experience with in-process testing and quality control integration.
- Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping and Quality Data Analysis: Knowledge of value stream mapping (VSM) and quality data analysis.
- Understanding of Outsourcing Processes: Understanding of outsourcing processes such as quenching, tempering, washing, painting, and powder coating.
- Familiarity with Handling Product Families: Familiarity with handling a variety of product families with different forming and processing requirements.
