Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Design and Process Engineer to join our team at Jigsaw Business Group. As a key member of our dynamic design team, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of innovative machinery and processes for the production of rail track fixing clips.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with our design team to develop cutting-edge machinery and processes.
  2. Design and optimize manufacturing processes to increase production efficiency and reduce costs.
  3. Work on-site to ensure seamless integration and functionality of new machines and processes.
  4. Develop flexible machine forming centers/stations with interchangeable forming heads.
  5. Implement in-process testing and control mechanisms to enhance Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) metrics.
  6. Replace existing robotic handling solutions with simpler, more efficient alternatives.

Requirements:

  1. Proficiency in SolidWorks and experience in machine and process design, particularly in industrial manufacturing environments.
  2. Proven ability to proactively identify and solve design challenges without waiting for detailed instructions.
  3. Hands-on experience with core processes including cutting to length, heating, forming, quenching, tempering, painting, and inspection.
  4. Familiarity with modular design principles and international power/safety/machine regulations.
  5. Strong understanding of production processes and quality control measures.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience with in-process testing and quality control integration.
  2. Knowledge of value stream mapping (VSM) and quality data analysis.
  3. Understanding of outsourcing processes like quenching, tempering, washing, painting, and powder coating.
  4. Familiarity with handling a variety of product families with different forming and processing requirements.
