Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - Special Education Needs

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our Special Education Needs (SEN) department at Canbury School Limited. The successful candidate will provide essential support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to ensure they have access to a high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Students with SEND: Provide individualized support to students with SEND, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and other disabilities.
  • Assist with Lesson Planning: Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEND.
  • Supervise and Monitor Students: Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and extracurricular activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Communicate with Parents and Carers: Maintain open and effective communication with parents and carers to ensure they are informed about their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Participate in Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings to discuss student progress, share best practices, and contribute to the development of the SEN department.
  • Contribute to School Events: Participate in school events, such as parent-teacher conferences, open houses, and staff training sessions.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in special education, teaching, or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience working with students with SEND, preferably in a school setting.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to providing high-quality support to students with SEND.
