The Scottish Government's Social Security Programme Directorate is dedicated to designing and implementing devolved benefits for Scotland. This vital work enables the distribution of millions of payments annually to individuals across the country.

This role sits within the Programme Management and Delivery Division, offering support across various teams within the program. We utilize cutting-edge tools, technologies, and methodologies to create user-centric systems, services, and processes that enhance capabilities and facilitate benefit distribution in Scotland.

About the Role

As a Delivery Lead, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing and propelling the delivery of essential digital services within the program. From the Digital Portal to processing successful applications, your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring these services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

You'll receive comprehensive support in advancing your delivery professional skills through our dedicated Delivery Manager pathway. This includes mentoring, buddying, and training opportunities, allowing you to evolve into an exceptional Agile delivery expert. You'll collaborate with leading delivery professionals in a supportive environment that fosters growth and presents challenges, enabling you to realize your full potential.

Responsibilities

As a Delivery Lead, you will:

  • Oversee key elements of the program's delivery, leading multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex digital and business services.
  • Drive progress efficiently and within agreed timelines, ensuring successful project completion.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to plan and manage your team's delivery in alignment with the overall program plans.
  • Lead and facilitate planning at team and program levels to ensure coordination and development of clear, practical plans.
  • Ensure accurate planning and estimation to efficiently deliver capacity against demand for your workstream.
  • Advocate for Agile change and apply Agile principles across the program.
  • Manage the connection between team and program levels, including team ceremonies and scrum of scrums.
  • Coach and mentor team members on agile and lean tools and techniques.
